About Me:

Mother of 7; grandmother of 8; semi-retired jazz singer; poet; retired Social Worker; Univ of Pa Masters in Elementary Education; elementary school teacher; Sunday School choir director; U. S. Navy Wave; generator of the impetus (via ltr to the editor) for the only local public statue representing Black people (the Seymour Statue); former radio newscaster (Nationwide Black News) and radio editorialist (Let's Talk Black); videographer, editor, and co-producer of Black Beat Productions, currently on local tv in Colorado Springs; member of the defunct "Original Slaves" singing group (imparting historical realities) of Philadelphia, Pa. Member of "Sapphire," defunct musical group of Colorado Springs, Co. Recently participated in two live performances of "Ladies Sing the Blues" in Colorado Springs, Co. Other music groups: "Me and Mr. Jones; " Contempra; "Joyride;" "Flair;" "Free Drinks;" "George Nelson & Friends;" "The Friends;" and a variety of gospel groups. Love gardening--especially pulling weeds. Except for how ludicrous it was (topsy-turvy), I might have made a good slave (with expert legal representation for the inevitable manslaughter charge(s)).
