Hey Kelli,
thanks for reaching out! I hope you can come to the Mahogany Books DC party at U-topia, 1418 U Street on Monday, September 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Hey there Kelli...just wanted to share with you my take on how the Creator worked and how you and Sojournals played a part in bringing to fruition a lot of what I do and have done this past year:
If I never stumbled upon your social networkSoujournals.com in Jan. 2008, I would never have
-met tons of other folk I continue to keep in touch with and who are part of my communication network
-been inspired to start the LiberatedMuse.com network on ning and later start a partnership with my business husband Maceo and name it Liberated Muse to put on the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest
-met Ananda Leeke who has become a creative mentor for me
-met Sharon Burton who has become both a friend and inspiration and the artist for the cover art of the book below
-met Serena Wills, Kevin Sabio and countless others through Sojournals who have positively contributed to projects on the fest, the book and important arts-based events in general...
Just wanted to make sure you knew...check out the book cover of the first book in our series. Sharon Burton did the lovely book cover. Hope you can also make our book reading and performances on June 19 @ the Potter's House
We would love Midnight Forums to be part of the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest, perhaps producing a mural at the festival...if you have a connect there, shoot my way if you can. I've sent an email and haven't gotten a response. Thanks!
